ssCore.SysTools.killApp

Kill a running application by specifying the EXE file name.


Availability:

First available in version 3.2 build 136.


Input Parameters:

application - The name of the application you want to kill without the path, but including the extension, e.g. 'notepad.exe'.

force - [Optional] - Forcibly terminate a process. Use this on hard to kill applications that don't like to be shut down.

timeout - [Optional] - Time (in milliseconds) to wait after sending the WM_CLOSE before a process is forcibly terminated. The minimum value is 1. The maximum value is 10000. Default value is 5000.


Output Parameters:

No output parameters.


Asynchronous Mode:

When this method is called asynchronously, a return object containing the output parameters is passed to the specified callback function.

ssCore.SysTools.killApp( paramsObject [, callbackParamsObject] [, errorParamsObject] );


Synchronous Mode:

When this method is called synchronously, a return object containing the output parameters is returned to the caller immediately.

var returnObject = ssCore.SysTools.killApp( paramsObject );
