ssCore.HTTP.getDefaultBrowser

Get the name of the current default browser.


Availability:

First available in version 3.0 build 2039.


Input Parameters:

None.


Output Parameters:

result - The name and version number of the default browser (e.g. "Internet Explorer 05.00.2920") or an empty string.


Asynchronous Mode:

When this method is called asynchronously, a return object containing the output parameters is passed to the specified callback function.

ssCore.HTTP.getDefaultBrowser( paramsObject [, callbackParamsObject] [, errorParamsObject] );


Synchronous Mode:

When this method is called synchronously, a return object containing the output parameters is returned to the caller immediately.

var returnObject = ssCore.HTTP.getDefaultBrowser( paramsObject );


Notes:

The variable identified by result will be set with the name and version number of the default browser (e.g. "Internet Explorer 0006.0000.2800.1106") or an empty string. The version information will always be padded with zeros (to four characters).
