clearTimeout

Clears the timeout so the function specified in setTimeout will not be called.


Availability:

First available in version 3.5.

Available only in ActionScript 3.


Usage:

clearTimeout(timeoutID)


Parameters:

timeoutID - Number - Id that is returned by setTimeout.


Notes:

Works in the same way that clearTimeout in ActionScript works.


Examples:

Example 1:
This example clears a timeout so that the code specified by setTimeout is never executed.

function promptUser(message)
{
    alert(message);
}

promptTimeout = setTimeout("promptUser('Hello World');", 2000);
clearTimeout(promptTimeout);
