The exe file that I have created with SWF studio uses XML files as a database. It works perfectly now, but I have a question about updating it in the future.
Right now, all my XML files are hidden when I compile the program. That is the way I want it to be. But the database will need to be updated regularly. Is there any way to update the XML files without recompiling the program? Or will I have to ask my customers to download a complete new version of the program every time I update the XML files?
If anyone has any good suggestions about how to do this, I would really appreciate it!
Basicly, if you want your XML stuff to be as hidden as possible, you'd compile the files into the exe via the File layout and would need to send them a new exe whenever the data changes.
However you could also store the XML data in the scratch area, and just send them an (encrypted) file to update that data. Check out ssCore.Scratch.read/write
