I have a swf on a webpage that sets some data to shared object and i want my exe to be able to read that data, i have tried using SharedObject.getLocal("mydatal", "/"); but it doesnt work. Is the exe able to access the shared object set by the swf from my webpage?

Hi Edvald,

It's to do with the path to the SO in relation to the domain from where the swf is being served from.

What you could try, is to use the Browser Object to load your web page into your exe, the swf in your Browser Object will then be able to read the SO because it is being served into a browser - and from your domain. Once read, you can then transmit the data to your exe via LocalConnection - which can send data across different domains.

You could even just set up a dummy page on your server with a swf in it which is designed for nothing else than to read your SO, and transmit the data via LocalConnection.

HTH
